Come out to the beautiful Grand Oaks Resort this week and see the wonderful holiday trees that have been set up and decorated by different Marion County organizations, including MTRA! Our tree is a lovely white flocked tree decorated in pastel snowflakes and rocking horses, in honor of our therapeutic riding horse SNOWFLAKE, who recently required surgery for a tooth issue as well as a cancerous carcinoma on her face that had to be removed. Accompanying our tree is a beautiful 4′ tall handmade wooden rocking horse donated by Janeane Reagan from Altoona, Florida. Janeane is the author of a wonderful book called “Rein in Your Brain: Do It Yourself Mental Training for Riders & Drivers”. The tree and rocking horse package will be auctioned off along with the tree on December 5th from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm. The lucky winning bidder will get both the tree and the horse!
The funds will be used to replenish our veterinary funds for our Marion Therapeutic Riding Association horse care. Of course, we can’t do our wonderful work without our very special horses, so it’s very important that we can care for them properly. Many of them are very seasoned older citizens that require extra veterinary care, which can be a burden on our 501(c)3 organization. We are very appreciative to the Grand Oaks for giving us this opportunity to highlight our program and raise much needed funds.
December 3rd through the 5th from 4 pm to 8 pm you can see the Festival of Trees, and remember that SATURDAY DECEMBER 5th is AUCTION DAY!
