On September 13, 2023, MTRA lost a vital and important member of our team. Jim Stecker was an amazing volunteer for MTRA before joining our Board of Directors in 2017, promptly taking on the serious job of Treasurer, a task he performed with incredible insight from his many years in business. He recently spearheaded our major electrical upgrades and arena footing and fan installation, which has made a world of difference for our horses, riders and instructors. Jim touched the lives of so many riders, families, staff and fellow board members with his efforts, generosity and larger than life personality.
Jim was a strong supporter of rider scholarships for those who could not afford our services. He doted on his favorite horse, Mocha, and was always the champion at raising funds for our program participants. It is our hope that this Memorial Scholarship Fund will be well supported by donations in the spirit of Jim’s efforts and will continue his work toward these goals. Words can not express how much MTRA will miss Jim Stecker. We will always be grateful for the impact he made on our program and the lives he helped change. Our deepest sympathy goes to his wife Gail and their family.
